g164rge 0 Posted July 23, 2007 Have a set of 8x17's to go on the G60. Planning to lower it at least 60mm. Will i need to get the arches rolled first? What size of tyres would be best to fit for the stretched look? Thanks
zak 0 Posted July 23, 2007 depending on the offset here shouldnt be any rubbing, mines is lowered a lot on a vr widetrack with 8 x 17s and there is no rubbing, most people will run 205/40 17's which give a mild stretch but if i ever replace my tyres i will be getting 215/35/17 which are wider but have a lower overall profile. i presonally think they look better too but they are pricy at approx £100 a corner
g164rge 0 Posted July 23, 2007 Thanks Zak!!! Reason i was asking about the tyre sizes, i have a few sets to choose from to go, 195 and 205's. The orig 235 on the rims i guessed would be too wide. Now need to find myself some serious lowerage!!
Pau1 0 Posted July 23, 2007 Yeah go for 205 40 17's g164rge. I've run 8x17's on my Corrado for years with no problems. My rears are now 8.5's with 205 tyres and still no rubage. Hello from Aberdeen too by the way.
g164rge 0 Posted July 23, 2007 Thanks Paul. Nice sounding fleet you've got to choose from! Are you based in or outside town?
Pau1 0 Posted July 23, 2007 Based in town. Also got some brand new, well never been used, lowering springs of you still need them for your G60.
