Need your help! Coolant and oil temp high! Fan speed control

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I was on my way down to Newmarket the other day from Milton Keynes (A14 super smooth road...) when my 16v C overheated spectactularly! (after pulling off at a junction and sitting in traffic for a few mins) (it read 128 on the MFA oil temp and max'd out the water temp dial!) when it cooled I had to drive it about 3 miles to pick up my GF and it was gaining about 4 deg C a minute right up past its usual 110 running temp. So I think it happened pretty quickly after I pulled of the A14...

had it in the garage and had new radiator, water pump and thermostat, however, the radiator fan has stopped too... The motor is working and apparently its not the sensor in the radiator, I have been told that there is a fan speed controller that takes a signal from the radiator thermo switch??? Even thought the thermo switch has three wires coming out that look like it could control both speads, is this true? Any body has this problem before and solved it? bill currently at £360, Hopefully I can fit the fan speed controller myself...

Thanks for your help all,
