TomD 0 Posted September 25, 2007 Hi all! Done a search but nothing came up that helped! After my C leaking oil for ages, finally worked out where the last leaks coming from - it looks like the base of the dipstick tube where it meets the block. But I can't see how it comes out if I need to change the seal etc. Does it screw in? I looked in the bentley manual but I can't see it saying how it comes out. Any advice? Cheers in advance! Kevin Bacon 5 Posted September 25, 2007 No seal. They are a press fit usually.
CTWG60 0 Posted September 25, 2007 1 Drain oil. 2 Take 1 million bolts out and remove sump 3 using a hammer and an old valve or something similar punch/drift it out from underneath. 4 clean hole and tube end and cover with locktight and knock it back in. 5 let the lock tight go hard before fireing it up after you have refilled with oil obviously
TomD 0 Posted September 26, 2007 Damn it, its just been at the garage having the sump removed and the bolts/threads retapped so that stops leaking. Looks like I'm gonna have to pull it off again! :( Cheers for the info! Tom
