Which Air Filter is best for my VR?

Hi can any body help. looking at doing a few small mods to my standard VR and through about replacing the standard air filter with an aftermarket one, which would be best a panel filter or induction kit? is there already a thread on here about this as i cant find one? induction kits look the business but not sure if i can live with the induction noise on a day 2 day bases if u know what i mean, and the oil panel filters worry me a little as in terms of being in line with the air mass sensor and possible cause problem later on down the line. i have found a Ram Air panel filter which is not oil but polymer has any one fitted this. also read stories of people fittin k&n filters to find they have lost power surely that cant be right?

 

any help and opinions i would be most gratful
