drunkenmunkey 0 Posted October 24, 2007 Definitely sounds like the mounts, gearbox mount if 'clunking' when releasing clutch forward, front mount if 'clunking' when pulling away in reverse. Rear should have good longevity but may be worth tightening all bolts up first if they're relatively new. Hope it helps mate
Kick Up The Rs 0 Posted October 25, 2007 I don't want to hijack this thread, but I can feel my engine drop or move when I pull off. I've had a new Febi rear mount, but it didnt cure the problem. The car has also recently (5k miles ago) had a new front sub frame and mount. So should I be questioning the quality of the front mount? G60 btw
steve @ 0 Posted October 26, 2007 Check the gearbox mount. You can also use the mkII diesel mount which is stiffer than the hydraulic filled standard item.
Rob_G60 0 Posted October 27, 2007 it was the front engine mount so got to send it to G-werks to be repaired
