changing LCD colour???

want to change all green lighting in car to blue, got clocks out,but how do i get to the LCD filter? got some blue LEDs for the top row of clocks. but dont know how to get to filter???

take off the gauges. you just need to pull them and they will come of.

Remove the screws in the circles first !!!

remove the screws on the circuit board

and get it out off the cluster housing

remove the screws on the backside to take off the white lcd-housing.

in the LCD-housing is a gree film, take it out. put the LCD back in the right way (remember the way you

took it off)

put it all back together and replace the stock bulbs with some colored LEDs or replace the green film with a

red / blue (what ever do you like) and keep the stock bulb.

 

thats all :D

how did you change the switch colours in the rest of the interior??

Also, does anyone know where to get the bulbs (and which bulbs, would be good to know so I don't have to remove one first!)

thank you!

i used both, the filter and colored leds.

but i installed 2 white and 1 red filter to get rid of the spot.

 

btw: i have 2 sets of LCD leds with sockets laying around. 1 blue and 1 red.

I used LEDs but there gave too much of a spot effect - so I used a filter too.

 

Where did you get them from dude?

Got the LEDs on ebay - didn't cost much. Was just in corrado search. I got some coloured plastic A4 pouches from WH Smith and used the original green filter as a template to cut out the new filter.

right, i got as far as removing filter an installing blue LEDs, but went to plug it in an got no light!? :(

got two seperate flashes from the top LEDs an nothing from LEDs in filter housing, and that was it?? Got the Leds from ebay like the ones discussed above so shouldnt be them??

anyone got any ideas?????

 

 

 

(P.S Walesy do you think its worth copying pics above to 'knowledge base' as its like a mini 'how to'??)
