VR6 0 Posted November 20, 2007 Throttle cable? Throttle body?
Jim 2 Posted November 21, 2007 Get someone to rev your car to 3k and you watch the throttle cable / switch in the engine bay and see what happens when they let off the power - if the cable is slow to come back to the default position, its time for a new throttle cable. They're not massively expensive from VW and not too difficult to fit at all. I had this on my old G60 but instead it manifested itself as the car over-revving when I changed gear - so as I hit the clutch to take the car out of gear, the revs went up 600RPM or so before I changed to the next gear. Supercharged Junkie 0 Posted November 26, 2007 Had the same kinda problem, turned out to be the idle switch on the TB wasn`t be hit, the switch was slightly bent out of position so not making contact when the throttle was closed :-(
