fault codes with poorly 2.0 16V

Recommended Posts

After power washing my engine off which was not the bright idea I thought it would be, my 16v seems now after a few days seems to be running like a bag of spanners :(

Since I have had fault codes from ecu

00516 Closed Throttle position Switch - F60 Open circuit/short with power

No Idea about checking this one, anyone help? (where/how)

00525 Oxygen sensor - G39 No Signal Error occurs intermitantly

Going to check connections near engine mount for voltage etc

00540 Knock Sensor 2-G66 No Signal Error occurs intermitantly

No Idea about checking this one, anyone help? (where/how)

Any idea's about the above would be gladly appreciated. I'm not wanting to spend vast amounts of money at this as it isnt really in tip top condition wise.

Also what does F60/G39/2-G66 Refer too?

Thanks all

00516 Closed Throttle position Switch - there is a connection lead and 2 (i think) switches on the throttle body itself, this is the place to start

00540 Knock Sensor - Do you have aftermarket leads on the car? without the pickup ring on a lead you would probably get this error.

hope this is of help!

Thanks for the info regarding 00516, going to check condition of them when we have better weather... :? Don't suppose you know what kind of voltages etc I should be getting?

As for the knock sensor, Im 100% certain an HT lead has the pickup ring on.

Just down to these 2 errors now,

00540 Knock Sensor (2144) 2-G66 No Signal Error occurs intermitantly

Any idea's anyone?
