daniboy1_2_3 0 Posted December 10, 2007 Can anyone tell me what i can use to do this on a G60 engine? I know your meant to use a special tool which i dont have. I have a 10" G clamp which doesnt seem big enough, do i need a bigger g clamp? If so what size and where do people attach it to compress the damper, any help appreciated. DanVW 0 Posted December 10, 2007 You can get the tensioner on and off by hand, you just need to lean on it and give it a tap with a hammer
daniboy1_2_3 0 Posted December 10, 2007 Thanks for that, didnt even need a hammer in the end. I realised that by holding the bracket as forward as possible on its pivot its far easier to get in on. Just pushed on :) and theres me ringing vw to get a price for the special tool lol was meant to ring back but no need now. Im sure it would have been funny.
