Leonard 0 Posted November 20, 2003 ['H3R4POR]It is worth getting filter for the sound though :D fliipin awesome :!: thats the only reason mines still on ;) if I see a big difference when I take it off it might stay off, but otherwise i'll stick it back on again, i'm just curious, now that i've forgetton how the car used to behave Took mine off the other day definately felt faster bottom end must lose torque when fitted. Couldn't live without the noise though so back on it went :D

cliveyp 0 Posted November 21, 2003 So, should i get one or should i drill my airbox and get a panel? :?
Guest Posted November 21, 2003 Exactly the same question I asked, and there isn't really a "right" answer, all down to taste I'm afraid, some people love them, some hate them. The drilled airbox is a cheap (free) solution, but the K&N is cheap (relatively) too, so its all down to you i'm afraid  The fact i've still got mine on there says something though ;) Thera
Pete 0 Posted November 21, 2003 Has anyone tried the BMC "Carbon Dynamic Airbox" system which appears on the Stealth website? It's pricey but Stealth seem impressed... Joe I had one of these on my Civic Type-R. It sounds amazing, and with the CTR's 8.5k rpm it made a noise like a touring car. Should sound great on a VR6. Mine has a Miltek SS which sounds cool on it's own, I'd like to sample the BMC again on the 2.9!!! Power gains are harder to see, but with the CTR is didn't LOSE power, like the remote filters do. A guy with a Blitz cone was 30bhp down on a RR last year, while the BMC cars both gave figures near standard. I don't really think induction kits do a lot for your power, but they do sound yummy!!!!!
