Supreme 0 Posted January 19, 2008 Have tried to use the search function but cant seem to get it to work, so thought i would just ask. In my continued quest to fit some wider dishes to my BBS splits, it was suggested that i could try and convert my '91 Rado 16V from 4x100 to 5x112, This would be easy on the rear of the car as its already running discs and i would just get an engineering firm to re thread a set of existing 5x100 discs to 5x112. On the fronts of i have tried to contact Bildon Motorsport about whether their conversion kit is available un-drilled or custom drilled to a different stud pattern. Does anyone know of a car running this conversion or if there is a company in the UK that specialise in hubs and drivetrain assemblies? Mega Thanks in Advance Alex
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 21, 2008 Plenty of MK5 Golfs in the scrap yards....... they're 5x112. You could be the first to have MK5 running gear on a Corrado ;-)
jamin 0 Posted March 11, 2009 Has anyone attempted this since the original post? I've found a mk5 hub (plus disc etc) from a breakers and they want £55 + VAT so not too bad, I'm just not sure I wanna risk that amount of money only to find out it doesn't work. Re-drilling the current hubs is definately a no-no, doing so would leave about 1mm gap to the edge of the hub, so rather dangerous.
zak 0 Posted March 11, 2009 you can redrill the original hubs to 5 x 112, you just need to add a re inforcement ring around the hub these are Furkz hubs but mine are done the same way

s1m0n 0 Posted March 14, 2009 Plenty of MK5 Golfs in the scrap yards....... they're 5x112. You could be the first to have MK5 running gear on a Corrado ;-) I have a complete 05 Audi front cross-member sitting in my lock-up, all ally and electronic steering assistance, I "won" a brand new set of 5x112 8x17 pro race 2's on flea bay for really silly money then the cross-member for £10  so I thought I'd have a "play"... The 03- and MK5 stuff uses a bolt in bearing carrier, it's quite nice! As for retro-fit, there are some issues to overcome but I've been too busy to give it any attention so far... Sorry, not much help Cheers Simon
