bananawhip 0 Posted February 1, 2008 Upon fitting my newly aquired polished inlet manifold last night I noticed a slight difference. Mine is a 1993 vr with a full size plenium but this one has a more channel type inlet with a few inches either side blanked off, kinda hard to explain. I'm guessing it's off a golf which obviously make less power so I was a bit hesitant to fit it. Will it have any adverse affects? Cheers
alex303 0 Posted February 2, 2008 not 100% sure but i think the Golf VR did have a more 'restrictive' inlet manifold, dare say someone else will be along in a bit to clarify this!
CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted February 2, 2008 yes, you have the 2.8 one mate...it will give more low down torque and loose some top end power.
bananawhip 0 Posted February 3, 2008 Thats gay, I thought as much. I does drive a little differently too which is annoying. How much power are we talking? enough to justify paying for my original one to be polished or is there not much in it?
CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted February 3, 2008 cant quote numbers mate but if your not happy with the way it drives then there is only one thing to do.......... :(
bananawhip 0 Posted February 3, 2008 Yeah your right, Gotta love the trials and tribulations of Rado ownership. Old manifold it is then
Tekara 0 Posted February 3, 2008 You could try investing in some buffing wheel attachments for a drill, and try polishing up you old manifold before putting it back in. You be surprised what a few hours work can do.
