Rocket Ron 1 Posted February 17, 2008 Bit confused with what type of plugs to use for my VR Been on a web site Spark Plugs they say to use NGK BKR5EKU and have also been told that Boshe brought out a modified plug to overcome the high reving miss fire problem when the cars were first built it is the FGR8KQA. Which one is the best for the VR6 before I go and pay the hard cash for them. Also oil been on another website http://www.opieoils.co.uk good for both plugs and oils they recommend fully synthetic 5w 40 to use Silkolene Pro S or Motul 300v, but have also been told another good fully synthetic oil to use is TITAN Supersyn Plus. What are the members views before I go out and purchase.
steve @ 0 Posted February 17, 2008 Go for the ngk's they will be fine. As for the oil myself and a few others on here run the Silkolene Pro s 10w50, its a great oil and works very well with the hot running VR6 engine.
MK1Campaign 0 Posted February 17, 2008 Stealth always use MK2 Golf GTI 16v plugs which are miles cheaper than VR ones. As for oil ive only ever used the VW Synta silver in mine.
alex303 0 Posted February 17, 2008 I'll 2nd that for the Silkolene Pro S, top notch oil, have used it for the last 2 years & without a doubt the engine seems happier on it! :)
