Guest Posted February 21, 2008 Can't see the point of a carbon spoiler but it does look well made. Just weight saving i'm guessing, downforce will be the same. There is no down force provided by the spoiler, or very little anyways. You're confusing Aerofoils ('wings') with spoilers I think ;) 'Wings' produce down force, and spoilers (by definition) reduce lift by 'spoiling' the air flow. CazzaVR 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Monkey-Boy, as Dave says, use the search! Wings, bonnet,, bumpers, interior etc changed around 1992 with K plates.

I can calculate the downforce on a wing given it's angle and the speed the car is going to fractions of a Newton, did it just a few days ago in uni 8) *might actually calculate a corrado's wing sometime*

Parked next to my bro's K reg, I still can't see the difference.... but then I completely failed to notice that he had put his new grille on too!
corradosyncro 0 Posted February 21, 2008 hi guys just as a point this is not a topic on what gives what i know you wont save 500kgs from having a carbon spoiler im just making them because they look cool doing this to see how much demand there is carbon parts as for late or early style bonnets im looking at making late style bonnets as there are more models with this bonnet and i have had them on my early style corrados no probs it costs about £1800 to make mould of a bonnet and there is just more call for late style i can supply late style wings around £299.00 each as for slam panels to costly for demand looking at grills thinking of doing one with the eyebrow spoiler included or single grill/single eyebrow feed back would be good
tallpaul1977 0 Posted February 21, 2008 I would want a grill with the eyebrow
corradosyncro 0 Posted February 22, 2008 hi i have a pic of a bonnet to show finish like glass pic is not good as taken on my phone as camera was playing up will have some decent pics soon cheers pic is at http://www.corradosyncro.co.uk follow to the carbon spoiler page thanks for looking
boost monkey 0 Posted February 22, 2008 ^^ that's still a good picture matey! Looks pretty clear. Are you thinking of doing bundles? i.e. if someone wanted both wings and a bonnet there'd be a slight reduction? I know that would be getting on for £1k, but someone might find it useful. boost monkey 0 Posted February 22, 2008 Do you know how much weight each panel would save roughly? I'm guessing the bonnet will be about 10kg (or more, standard item seems a lot heavier than a mk2 golf bonnet!) and maybe 5kg ish for each wing and 1-2kg on the spoiler? corradosyncro 0 Posted February 22, 2008 of course if some one was to buy a few items i would give a discount eg if they were to collect etc

lee_golf_v5 0 Posted February 22, 2008 I would definately be interested in a Engine cover with the 'VR6 - DOHC' on it, and also a front grill would be good.... How long does it take to knock these up? Would you be able to create centre caps for alloys at all or is that too much of a stretch, I need to replace mine ideally with a VW badge on, as I feel mine look too chavy!!!! corradosyncro 0 Posted March 1, 2008 hi all had real busy week at work but im getting together a few parts vw corrado grill vw corrado grill with eyebrow built in like reiger style got an o.e.m spec late style bonnet from v.a.g not cheap !! once i have the grills in hand will start making moulds of them but they will be coming on the look out for new or new old stock or complete mint no filler dents etc DOORS/TAILGATE IF i cannot find any i will use mine from my other corrado as i know these are mint but this means taking off road and wrapping up in garage for while but could do with room so looking first Have contact that can supply 4mm polycarbonate windows for the front pair / rear pair and rear screen (corrado) these can be flat or be formed curved like oem tinted bronze or smoke and can have the black borders like oem (for rear pair and rear screen) needed to check i could get this otherwise i would not bother with doors or tailgate as did not see the point in going to great trouble making moulds of dorrs/tailgate only to load them with glass ! late spec vw corrado wings will keep all posted

Jim 2 Posted March 1, 2008 Interesting times indeed. Given the cost of new parts from VW, it might actually be more cost effective to buy some new body panel bits in Carbon Fibre!
CazzaVR 0 Posted March 1, 2008 All sounds excellent! How about a VR6 DOHC engine cover?
