Top Mount Kits

Hi all,

 

Looking to replace all the top mounts on my 94 VR. Are the mounts the same all round?

There are strut mount kits on GSF for the VR 91-> so do I just get 4 of those or do the front and rears differ?

Sorry for the noob questions, I tried a search but couldn't find anything.

The fronts and rear mounts are quite different!

 

The strut top mount kit will probably just include one top mount and the bearing that allows the front shock to pivot when steering.

 

The rear top mounts come in two parts and are just pieces of doughnut shaped rubber. They have an upper and lower part of the mount. The lower mount is what the rear shock sits on, and the upper part basically clamps the bottom mount in place from the inside side of the rear wheel arch. :wink:

Speaking from personal experience I would avoid the GSF mounts as they dont fit well and dont last long. Assuming you dont want to pay full price for genuine ones then try here for some Febi branded ones instead.

 

Front and rears are different but it is clear on that website what is needed for your car.

Thanks! Can I just check I'm right before I go ahead and order them:

 

So for the fronts I need:

2 x 14116 2.0 95-95 (from 50-S-000052) inc bearing VR6, inc bearing

 

Rears:

2 x 14958 Includes 2 upper & 2 lower mounts

And just for completeness:

2 x 19381 Upper spring mounting plate
