I'm upgrading my VR to 288mm brakes,

 

Will my old 280mm set up (discs, pads, calipers, carriers, and hoses) fit straight on to my friends MK3 Golf 16v?

I think they run around 256mm or something as standard.

IIRC dependant on the year the mk3 16v and 8v GTI's had 280mm's as standard...........and IIRC increased to 288mm in late 1995
