Quick question on fog lights

Recommended Posts

Hi all

The C has failed its MOT. Booo! But only on a reg plate bulb & a rear fog light. Woo-hoo! So it's the cheapest MOT ever!

Now, when I've come to replace the rear fog light bulb (passenger side) there wasn't a bulb there, so I chucked on in. I then went to put the bulb unit back in the housing and there's no hole in which to place the new bulb.

Is this normal on a late VR to have only one rear fog light?

Cheers

Yeah thats normal, you can cut out the blank to fit one tho but be aware there is no reflector fitted on that side so it will look slightly different...

... if your bothered just order the same side from a US spec car - was about £17 from VAG when I got one but this was 4-5 years ago!

Cheers dudes. Trip to the MOT station next week to explain...!

do we take it they failed your car on the n/s rear foglight then because if they did they had no right to you only have to have the o/s rear one working ,

but they do look better with the 2 working, most vag cars only have the one its realy tight fisted thing to do

Yeah, that's right, n/s fog light and also o/s number plate light.

Shouldn't be a problem hopefully, as they're are pretty alright guys (and very efficient!), so it's probably just an oversight on their part.

I agree, having only 1 rear fog is a proper corner cutter on VW's part!
