Mikey D 0 Posted April 2, 2008 Hi all, I have a '93 2.0 16v corrado which i bought unknowingly with a 1.8 16v engine :bad-words: which i think has come from a Mk2. I have finally got it through the MOT but i still have a few problem with it. The Tacho needle is jumping about alll the way throught the rev range. Now ive done some routing about and it seems that the early tacho were driven from a negative pulse from the coil where the later ones are driven from an rpm sensor on the crank. I think that my tacho is being driven by the coil instead of a RPM sensor. Has anyone had any experience with this and how do i go about wiring it up as the wiring diagrams i have found are a bit poor when it comes to this circuit!!! Please help guys. Thanks, Mike. Mikey D 0 Posted April 12, 2008 Has anyone had any dealing with this. Or have any wiring diagrams to show how the signals are fed. Its really annoying when all you can see is the needle bouncing about. Thanks,
VEEDUBBED 0 Posted April 15, 2008 I hear ya mate,i've got the same problem on my corrado. My corrado's different than yours because i've grafted on a Weber/iaw L8 ecu off a Ford sierra cosworth that's been transformed to run 8 injectors, water injection etc(Pectal super 8). I've tried loads of ways to try and stop the rev-counter bouncing but so far have failed!. The only sure way of eliminatimg this problem is by using the inst.cluster off a mk.2 golf 16valver,it works in a different way to the corrado's cluster. I'm going to see if i can manage to bastardise the two clusters toghter and make them work.
