Coolant Thermo-switch & cooling fan

Recommended Posts

On my Corrado GR6 the cooling fan runs shortly after start when the coolant is still cold and remains running, has any-one any ideas what may be causing this?

in fact, sounds like it's wired opposite to how you would expect: turning the fan on at a LOW temperature reading from the switch.

but then all the connectors are one-way fittings only so someone must have hacked away at that to connect it the wrong way round.

Hallo,

The rad fan run on switch is actually the same switch as the coolant temp guage sender, are you getting a lowish water temp reading? ie around 70-80 degs fully warmed up?

The other question is did you get a new thermo switch or a s/h one and is it from VW or another supplier?
