Leak down and compression testing!

this may sound silly I want to get a better feel for my engine before I do anything to it!

 

as ive decided to keep the g60 and start modding! bodywork and interior first then engine.

 

but unike my last one which was rebuilt then i took it apart again I knew it was strong and Iknew it could take what i threw at it!

 

so really I cant remeba what the exact right phrase is but would like to know if anyone has a clue how much a leak down and compression engine test will cost and what exactly will it tell me?
