mattkh 0 Posted May 22, 2008 Hi Lead 3 has a weak looking spark. Checked the resistance and it was ok at 8000 ohms. The inside of the dizzy has very clean terminals. What could be the reason for the weak spark? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Supercharged 2 Posted May 22, 2008 That sounds a bit high - any signs of arcing? VW leads are fitted with 5K Ohm resisters for supression so that plus the lead itself should be within the 5.5 - 6.5 K Ohm range Just change em if in doubt, 16v leads aren't expensive these days - £30 for the quantum ones thru VW / TPS or you can buy individuals or even the bits like the ends on there own, Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

At least people can see what others have suggested and build on that, rather than a thread with every specific question based on something that has been suggested.
