Tedb 0 Posted May 28, 2008 Each time I change my Air Filter it is contanimanated with oil, just on the top of the filter in the centre, seems to be coming from the Fuel metering system, anyone know why this happens? Cheers Guys
Dec 1 Posted May 28, 2008 Most likely cause is the crank-case breather pipe, which runs from the front of the block to the top of the airbox. That tends to carry a bit of oil into the air intake pipework.
Tedb 0 Posted May 28, 2008 Cheers for that, I'll give the pipe a good cleanout and check it again in a few weeks to see if it's the same. Thanks

boost monkey 0 Posted November 3, 2008 mattcorrado, oil on the filter / intake system has already been explained above. It's the positive pressure crankcase breather system and is designed to decrease pressure buildup below the pistons.
mattcorradowirral 0 Posted November 3, 2008 ah ok i see so would that mean its had too much pressure and that y it blow the pipe off.
