Help! Oil soaked spark plugs

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I've got a 1990 1.8 16v and its been producing quite a bit of blue smoke on idle since I bought the car a few weeks ago. Then when I went to start it this morning it was running really rough and the engine head itself was shaking. Sounded like a tractor!

As part of trouble shooting and general servicing I went to replace the spark plugs. Pulled out the first one and its soaked in oil. Any ideas where the oil is coming from and how I need to fix this problem?! The only other thing I've reaplaced so far is the rocker gasket.

The cosmetic issues on my car I can deal with but the fact that I can't drive it is killing me!

Any help, tips or advice is really appreciated

EF.

is there oil in your water?

What about your oil cap.

is there a creamy looking substance on it?

Do a search for your symptoms mate.
