Goodridge Mk3 VR hoses - rears the same as Corrado?

Recommended Posts

Ok, so am about to put 288mm brakes from a late Golf VR on the front of my car. Have been trying to look around for the best place to get the mixed set of Goodridge hoses from because I heard that the normally recommended C&R were a bit unreliable these days.

However, in discussing this with a few suppliers and also Mic_VR who has a full set of Mk3 Goodridges, it seems that these may well be fine for the C all round. Mic has said that the middle-rear pair of hoses in the Mk3 set are identical to the Corrado's and he suspected the rears were as well. Secondly, after that, I got a call back from C&R and their tech guy said both rear pairs from the Golf kit were identical to the Corrado.

Does anyone know this for sure? I can get a mixed set from Demon Tweeks but they're more expensive and might not arrive in time, or C&R, although they now dont think i need to do this.

Just to be clear, not asking for suppliers, just confirmation that the rear 4 hoses in a Mk3 Golf kit would work just as well on the C!

Cheers

John

i was wondering this, as i have the same front brakes to go on, but standard corrado rears, gsf list a 4 line set and a 6 line set for the mk3 golf

if i buy that will the rears work on corrado calipers? is that basically the same as what you just asked?

i cant answer your question 100%, but as for C&R, a friend of mine ordered some hoses last thursday, and they arrived with him yesterday.

Also, To do the whole lot you'll need all 6 lines. 2 fronts, 2 mids and 2 rears. The kit i ordered was for a late, post '95, VR6 Golf and part no from Goodridge is SVW0604-6

John - to answer the original post you need the late MK3 Golf (95on) kit to fit the 288's, the other hoses are the same (as long as your not running MK4 rear calipers)

Just check you have the right banjo bolts for the calipers you have as the MK4 288's are a different thread pitch to the MK3 ones.
