db82 0 Posted September 28, 2008 while doing the weekly check on my car i have noticed the oil cap now has white on it. although the head hasn't blown yet, im going to get it changed but was wondering how much its cost to fix at a garage or how easy is it to fix myself since the head hasn't blow yet will i need to get the head skimmed? VR6 0 Posted September 28, 2008 How much white? Could just be due to a bit of moisture if it's only a tiny amount. Guessing if you're wanting to change the HG, there's obviously quite a lot!
db82 0 Posted September 28, 2008 i split my top hose a few weeks ago, and also recently had an oil and filter change. i was running on a bodge top hose for a couple of weeks but checked the condition of the repair before and after every jouney, had been running a little hot recently but only 2-4 degrees form normal running temps (94-98). i never see any white on the cap, and there is a substainsual amount i did notice my exhaust lightly smoking yesterday. i dont want to run the risk driving it as i have to drive 15 miles to work every day. 150 miles a week with dodgy head :nono:
