1995 2.0 16v Fuel pump wiring?

Recommended Posts

Bit stuck trying to find the wire that goes to the ECU that makes the fuel pumps kick in.

Was told it was red/yellow, and to test it by earthing on the car body (fuel pumps should prime). However before earthing to check there is no 12v supply coming from the wire....prob is I have 12v coming from the red/yellow wire???

Any guidance most appreciated... :notworthy:

Hi

I take it you are trying to find if the pump has given up the ghost.

Pick up the carpet in the boot on the drivers side, and put up a picture of the end towards the seat. It should show a round plate with three screws.

Nope...I have done an engine swap and an fitting an aftermarket ecu, need to find the wire for the fuel pump relay so it can be connected to the new ecu. Was told it was the red/yellow wire and there should not be 12v coming from it. not the case though?

do not earth the red/yellow thats the live to the pump. If you have live to it on cranking then that wire and the relay is fine.

red/yellow = pump live

Brown pump = earth

purple/black = sender feed

thin brown = sender earth

Think thats right

Hi

These are the wires at the 4-pin connector at the top of the fuel tank in the boot.
