Its now with a veedub specialist who state it could be the distributor ? however in addition the speed sensor / crank position sensor is showing as dud, however am informed they usually read faulty when plugged up to the diagnostics ???? Any Ideas ????? ACCORDINGLY................... WANTED ...... a distributor for 1993 regd Vr6 Corrado (not coil pack engine), I believe its an ABV engine, can anyone help ? :D Cheers in anticiaption
Reggit 0 Posted October 8, 2008 Not familiar with dizzy'd VR's as mine's a coilpack motor, but a few general checks for a dizzy engine. 1. Pull king lead off distributer and hold it to metallic part of engine. Get someone to crank the engine and see if there's a spark (hold it with something insulated so you don't get a belt) 2. Bugger ... I don't suppose they've got points inside the dizzy have they? other stuff. 3. Are the fuel injectors operating? 4. are all necessary relays in place? Crank sensor will report an error if engine not running although it could be faulty. Mine failed and stopped the spark and fuel so still could be an issue. Check it's plugged into the right connection though, I remember someone had an issue with a none running motor and two sensor connections had been reversed. Where abouts are you? Perhaps someone near you would be willing to cast a 2nd pair of eyes at the problem.

CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted October 8, 2008 Its now with a veedub specialist who state it could be the distributor not much of a specialist are they..?,as said above check the relaysetc ,see if they are missing etc,and you could check to see of the ECU has its main live. what ECU did you get? coilpack or dizzy? as for fault codes...well corrados are dumb, and degrading sensors will not show up,the crank sensor will show up as faulty if cranked over for sometime, thats normal. if the hall sensor was faulty in the distributer it would still start but be low on power as the crank sensor is its main referance point, without that you will get no spark etc. were are you located?
