BMC CDA Finally fitted

Recommended Posts

It rained off and on all day to day but I was determined to get it fitted. The tedious part was fashioning a bracket to hook onto the tensioner. I used some stiffish tin which was easier than steel but looks pants, hey ho its on there :D

In my eagerness to test it I started the car up but it kept stalling. FFS I thought i was going to have to put the old airbox on when I noticed I hadn't reconnected the MAF plug :cuckoo:

Took it for a good drive and Im really pleased with it. Ive heard others say its loud and chavvy but my experience is the opposite. I was running a K&N panel filter which i found was louder at low revs but in a raspy way that sounded a bit harsh.

The CDA is more subtle and quiet at low revs but when you get it to 4k + revs its got a nice deep resonant sound that frightens people you are overtaking, Get Some!

The car actually feels smoother as well. Ive got one question, do you have to remove it for the MOT?

Really got to get one of these. Just have other things to spend £160 on (no the car )

Makes it sound like a 4k engine conversion though :D
