Outer rims - stainless steel or ally?

Hi all,

 

I am looking into getting my ZW1's refurbed, but cant decide whether to get ally or stainless steel outer rims. Oviously the steel ones are gonna be heavier, but they should be less prone to corrosion. What about polished ally though, will they corrode quickly without the lacquer on them?

 

Any experience/advice would be appreciated.

I think if you go for alloy you should defo get them lacquered, my unlacquered centre need to be polished weekly at the moment and I hardlydo any miles. If my outers were not lacquered it would be a nightmare.

Hey mate i have had both and now run stainless. I'd say go for the stainless dishes, you just wash and go :D , no need fa all this polishing every other day, then you can run em all year round aswell..
