Tom's Nugget Vr6! swap my inpros with headlights?

Recommended Posts

Here are some pics when i bought it for £230! you could probably see why! no exhaust bad body work on passengers side, head was stripped, poor wheels and DIRTY! my friends a lot needed to be done!Corrado conversion V2 (3).pdf1130953484a6932234956l.jpg[/attachment:m00t235b]Book1.pdf1130953484a6932234702l.jpg[/attachment:m00t235b]stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdf1130953484a6932165211l.jpg[/attachment:m00t235b]

so i put my wheels on from my old corsa... but it didnt look to bad untill i had enough money to buy a new set! also rebuilt the head, powerflow full stainless straight through and gave the bodywork a go with my mate! :) o and not to forget a CLEAN!ETKA Corrado.pdf1130953484a6932187599l.jpg[/attachment:m00t235b]

and this is it with the cups i bought....which i think really do suit it! i no a few disagree!stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdf027.JPG[/attachment:m00t235b]Corrado92.pdf031.JPG[/attachment:m00t235b]

So anyway things were going ok with the car untill someone driving a cavalier went into the side of me! not happy! sorry no pics atm tho! and from there things went down hill! gearbox shattared meaning i needed a new gearbox clutch etc whcich cost enough..... and then when i was putting on the 50mm manifold and rocker cover one of the ht leads snapped and then one of the chambers wasn't filling up with oil and made a huge tapping sound!.. tappets were fine etc. so i took it to my friendly local garage and they couldnt find what was wrong with it (even called in a specialist) and could tell me anything about it!

So i thought fuck it! compension was coming soon so i thought why not stick a different engine in it! my mate bought a vr so i wanted a vr engine in mine! (always been a challenge betwwen us!) so months of waiting my car is pretty much done and im picking it up on monday!!!! yay!! but heres a few picks of it in the garage with engine etc...o and my speedlines (home sprayed) O and just a few random ones aswell...passat climatronic wiring diags.pdf003.JPG[/attachment:m00t235b]climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdf007.JPG[/attachment:m00t235b]climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdf007.JPG[/attachment:m00t235b]2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf005.JPG[/attachment:m00t235b]

Good work there mate, nice to see a Nugget brought back to life! I'd love one but just cant run to another at the mo :(

Just a small thing though! I personally like the rubbing strips on the sides with this colour as it breaks it up a bit but each to their own eh!! Keep up the good work :salute:

Thanks for the comment mate! I know what you mean about the bump strips but every nugget still has them on so I thought why not be different!? Now I got the black sperdlines on there it looks a bit better! I'll get some more pictures on there Monday when I get it back! :)

Yer still have the origional early bonnet on and it still fits lovely under there with a vr subframe! Strange I no! Tempted to keep the 16v badge on the front to fool people! I'll get some pics of the bay tomo wen I get it back and give it a little clean etc..... Next bits to do will be the body work and then performace i guess! I just love the v6! I was origionally going to put a g60 engine in there but thought to myself nugget g60s come as standard so y not stick a vr in an early car just to be a bit cheeky! And like I said the cups did make it stand out but the black speedlines look mean. But I will NEVER strip back wheels manually again as long as I live! The laquer and paint was fine but the factory primer is the devils primer! :)

ok havent posted for ages so i thought i would put a few up. hope you like the keskins :)Corrado92.pdfc1 005.JPG[/attachment:1gdjza9j] i went up to london to pick the keskins up and ended up stayin at toms house (bananawhip) and getting stupidly drunk as usual! ;) loved the feel of the car on the way back it makes such a difference to the handling of the whole car and got a few looks on the motorways! :)passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfc1 004.JPG[/attachment:1gdjza9j]climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfc1 003.JPG[/attachment:1gdjza9j] think it needs dropping on the back a little bit more but i need to get my arches rolled first before i do anything because it does like a little scrape now and again!2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfc1 002.JPG[/attachment:1gdjza9j] im not to sure on the angel eyes....had some good feedback but also some bad so im not sure what im going to do with them yet. by all means tell me what you think! honesty is the best policy... c1 001.JPG[/attachment:1gdjza9j] thought i would take a little pic of the engine aswell. schimmels are going in in 2 weeks and thats about it at the moment due to a massive money shortage! lol anyway feedback would be nice. cheers.

ok plans are goin to be........

cams fitted

mx5 mirrors

sprinter or t4 vent

new door and wing (because of crash)

respray in origional colour

light smoke tints

bigger brake upgrade

then after that i think its got to be a supercharger!

i want to give it a sort of dubbed look with the wide stance etc, but i also want it to be el rapido! so we will jus have to see how it goes!

is it a replacement part because i thought they were plastic and if its the metal but below then it would be recessed in wouldnt it?, i wondered how people did them thats all lol. the list you have made sounds like your gonan be busy for a while! lol

Oh and jus get sand paper on it etc start with a thick grade then just get thinner and thinner. The manifold on a vr is a massive partof the engine bay and it doesn't take much to make it look nice.

i see now . i had the feeling the manifold sat quite a bit lower down than it does. but after looking at the picture properly i understand now :p
