Leonard 0 Posted March 13, 2009 Yeah that's very true, everyone has an opinion on suspension and different preferences, but the recommended brands that come up most frequently in VW circles are Koni, H&R, KW & Weitec. Leonard, the problem with your current setup is definitely the Eibach Springs. Everyone I know whose had the same setup hated them. I remember Dinkus's 2nd VR6 had the same and it really was crashy and horrible. Sorry, it does get techie and geeky I'm afraid, but I had to study all this schitt in order to find the best performance / price compromise for my car. Cheers mate. That is what I need someone that has already done all the leg work! :notworthy: So the Koni TA and H&R is still stiffer than your current set up? :norty: That is interesting. I really think Im just gonna go for it and get the V3's sounds like its worth the investment. Any comment on how long you think they last with mixed driving? Plus do KW offer a refurb service, rather than them having to be scrapped? Cheers Matt
KipVR 1 Posted March 13, 2009 I've got Bilsteinn PSS coilies, they were a bit on the hard side, but lasted me for many miles, eventually I got them rebuilt by Bilstein as the bushes inside were fecked after 40-50k miles ish of hard driving. They rebuilt them, standard price for new seals etc is £200 but because mine were so shot is cost me £400ish in the end but I they softened them up for me and reduced the fast bump and coupled with the same spring rates that Kev has, they make for a really good ride, absolutely spot on for UK roads. The point of this post is, bilsteins may be a bit more hardcore that other kits, but the company back up is first class, which is why so many people use them in racing. Incidently if you have H&R coilies then Bilstein will rebuild these too as they are Bilstein shocks.

So if I can find some 2nd hand ones cheap enough..... :norty: Learining lots from this thread thanks all. Matt
