corymcarthur 0 Posted March 13, 2009 im trying to get the alternator out of my 90 corrado. what do i remove to get the tension on the belt loosened and if there is a step by step instruction on how to do the complete removal. there seems to be a number of bolts that have to be moved but there is a spring type tensioner in there that im no sure what to do with. im new to vw corrado and just picked mine up this week so any help would be great.....thanks
dirtytorque 0 Posted March 13, 2009 tbh there isn't that much holding the alternator in place.Few bolts and a couple of wires. The tricky bit is the tensioner without the right tool to compress/decompress it. I do it with brute force and lots of ignorance.
corymcarthur 0 Posted March 14, 2009 well i have the top left side bolt off and then tensioner (belt is off), now i also have both bolts on the bottom removed and all wires are off..... but for some reason i can only move it back in forth against the supercharger and the head..... can anyone help me on how to get this out of my g60 its really starting to piss me off
dirtytorque 0 Posted March 14, 2009 Once you have all the bolts out keep rocking it back and forward at the same time pulling on it. It will come out eventually.
