Serial 0 Posted April 7, 2009 Hi all, I've sourced a AAA engine from a Sharan to replace my shot ABV -- got it home and noticed this part attached to the front of the engine just under the inlet manifolds. Does anyone know what it is and what it's for? The ABV head doesn't appear to have a hole for it. I'm hoping I can just blank off the hole on the AAA head and get rid of this bit. Kevin Bacon 5 Posted April 8, 2009 That's the secondary air injection port and valve, which some very late OBD2 VR6s got. Bin the valve. Plug the hole in the head. You can get small core plugs (like the coolant ones in the block) for that.

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted April 8, 2009 No probs. I've got a US OBD2 head on my VR6 and I had to do the same thing :D
