12 DEG BEN 0 Posted April 20, 2009 What are peoples opinion on using the same metal head gasket after removing the head to do some work on. The gasket is about 4 years old now and covered 20k miles. Is it just me being tight or does it have many more miles to give. Does'nt drink any water and no other issues really.
bruny 0 Posted April 21, 2009 You are being tight, dont risk it, new gasket required. You dont want to take the top off again when it goes wrong!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted April 21, 2009 You can reuse the metal throttle body gaskets a few times, but I certainly wouldn't reuse a head gasket.
andy 0 Posted April 21, 2009 Its simply not worth it, its a lot of hassle to replace it again if it doesn't seal properly. 200 psi ish on the cylinders, water at collosal pressure.
12 DEG BEN 0 Posted April 21, 2009 Thanks fellas. It was just a passing though as it is metal.
