say16vt 0 Posted April 23, 2009 I have recently rebuilt my engine and have run the car a couple of times but on the last run I could not restart it after stopping. I have checked for spark which seems fine but there is no fuel. I can't hear the pump buzzing. I have booked the car for MOT this saturday so any advise would be very appreciated. Could it be the fuel pump relay? How do I test this? Is it possible to bridge the relay connections on the fuse box to see if it starts? Should I check test the fuel pump? Thanks in advance Sailesh
Slimg60 0 Posted April 24, 2009 It could be the fuse (I cant remember which number it is) if the pump isn't priming, or the pump itself is fudged. Alternativly check the ecu plug, as this provides the earth for the relay and would cause the relay not to operate.
Supercharged 2 Posted April 25, 2009 Well worth re-seating the Fuel pump relay is bottom right (80 or 167 if it's been replaced) Put your finger on the relay as you turn the ignition and you should feel it energise as it primes and then again as you try to start the car. If you have nothing then check the fuses. If you find a blown fuse then check the lambda wiring as it's on the same circuit. If not then look at the ignition switch.
