corrado1991 0 Posted May 1, 2009 hey, thanks for the help with the thermostat ! i have noticed that the whole colling system is filled with a gold/bronze coloured gunk ! is this a gasket at fault ????? thanks
Jim 2 Posted May 1, 2009 Uh oh... that could be a sign of the headgasket gone. Get that lot flushed out as soon as possible and refill with G12+ ASAP (read the instructions for dilution obviously) and see if it comes back.

Jim 2 Posted May 1, 2009 You can also get gunk in the coolant from mixing coolant types so it's possible that's the cause..?

ben16v 0 Posted May 2, 2009 probably the oil cooler has gone allowing oil to mix with the water if the header tank is full of mayo
Richie_t 0 Posted May 9, 2009 Oil cooler not head gasket, when head gasket is gone either the sump gets waster in it or the cooling system gets the gases from compression into it and basicly over presurises it.
