kris99 0 Posted May 18, 2009 Hi folks, Quick wee question here. Whenever I turn the engine off after a drive I can hear all this gurrgling coming from what sounds like the collant tank. It only last for about 5 seconds or so. The heater matrix was done about 3 months ago, however there is no problems with the heater, mist, and no damp carpets. The coolant level does sit at about 90-100 however. Any ideas what this gurglging noise could be and how to fix it? Cheers Kris
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted May 18, 2009 What engine? VR6? Sounds like you have a small air lock in the system which the aux pump is moving around when you turn the engine off.

craigowl 0 Posted May 19, 2009 Yes - aux coolant pump (electric) switches on to prevent localised hot spots developing and consequent warping of head, so I believe. I can hear mine - dont know enough about it to confirm there is an airlock as pianowire says.
