marty_abs 0 Posted June 22, 2009 Hi guys, Reet, basically my fuel guage never goes fully up, when i fill my tank it only goes to 3/4 on the needle tops. However i can run on red for quite a while i have found out. So i am guessing my sensor is fooged. Does anyone know of this happening to anyone else? or even if not does anyone know what part(s) i am likely to require to fix it? If there is more info needed just let me know and i shall supply it. mattnorgrove 0 Posted June 22, 2009 The floating mech that sends the fuel level actually sits on top of the pump housing. It sits inside the fuel tank, accessed through an inspection cover underneath the boot carpet. It might be worth whipping the pump out and seeing that the float can still achieve its full movement. I'd wait until the tanks nearly empty though, as the pump is submerged after about 1/2 tanks worth of fuel, and makes the job twice as difficult (naturally my pump decided to die with 3/4 of a tank of fuel still in it). Pump is removed by twisting anticlockwise to detach it from the floor of the tank. HTH Edit: Rereading your original post, are you sure the clocks haven't been out in the past and the needle put back on the fuel gauge incorrectly??
