kentyboy 0 Posted July 11, 2009 this may or may not be of help,i have an early valver and had the same problem,i persisted with it for weeks trying the oil switch thing etc, then after a deep search on forum, found a post about this...apparently there is a diode on the back of the rev counter that controls the beeper etc,the clocks are really easy to pull out,so after having the oil pressure checked ok,i removed the clocks, removed the rev counter and ran the car without the counter and thus it worked fine,i was unable to locate the diode, but located the beeper,as i had been at the end of my tether,i removed the beeper, and put a pressure gauge into the dash, the light still works fine..flashes and goes out,no more beeps or light flashing, and i can see my oil pressure, have thought about buying another rev counter to see if it still happens, but i am a great believer in if its ok,leave it alone....like i said it saved me a shed load of cash ,it may help it may not..... :D

I'm going remove it till I've got time to find out the cause!
kentyboy 0 Posted July 17, 2009 on the back of the rev counter..take the rev counter out and its a silver barrel with two pins on it,you can heat the solder and remove it..not sure if it can be put back in or not,but it didnt matter as i didnt intend having it back in as it was driving me insane,my pressure gauge tells me everything i need to know, and if the buzzer goes off its usually too late by then if it is because of pressure loss....good luck
