Stryker 0 Posted July 7, 2009 What temperature is the rad fan supposed to cut in at on a G plate 1.8 16v?. Normal running temps for mine are around 90 and usually hovers around 95 in traffic, but recently had my timing knocked back slightly to get rid of a pinking issue and now its seems to be running slightly hotter occasionaly brushing the 100 mark. cheers for any info

redwoodkp 0 Posted July 7, 2009 Mine always used to sit at 100 but after another head gasket along with the head being skimmed, new coolant pipes, radiator, oil cooler etc (all of which did need changed due to leaks or failures). Its sits at 90 permanently even in this supposed heatwave!! Got a lower temp rad fan switch fitted now and is definite must if you want to cool sooner rather than later. Kicks in nice an early if sitting in traffic for long times or after long journeys
