renson 0 Posted September 11, 2009 Check your leads and plugs mate, i had the same problem with fuelling this week. Checked for airleaks and was just generally checking around and noticed what looked like a loose lead. Upon futher inspection i noticed that 1 of the spark plugs had worked slightly loose (Haven't checked/changed them in a couple of years  ). New plugs later and it seems a lot better. Also may be worth cleaning your MAF if you can (wait till someone else says its fine) done this on my old golf VR6 before and improved things. Don't VR6's Ecu's learn their values? May be worth checking everything out then disconnecting the battery to reset everything and see if it makes a difference. Oh and if you can get a scantool on it. That should tell you a few things. hodaz 0 Posted September 11, 2009 After the last time I did some major work on my VR it took a while for the ECU to adjust to running normally again. Could just be that. My car when I bought it had a low temperature thermostat on it and that was making it run rich all the time due to it being stuck in cold mode constantly.
