Erickramirez 0 Posted September 17, 2009 im taking out the head tommorow, just want to know if theres anything i should know, any special tools i will need, etc? i searched and couldnt find anything, links and tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks! Sonicriot13 0 Posted September 17, 2009 The 17mm nuts that connect the exhaust manifold to the downpipe are the hardest bit probably. Jack the car up and get them from underneath with a long extension and a bar or long ratchet. Pop the driveshaft out of the gearbox if it's getting in your way. Or remove the intake manifold to give yourself room to get them from above. Remove the head with the exhaust manifold in place. Rustynuts 0 Posted September 18, 2009 The head bolts are 12mm (If I remember rightly) spline key fitments. You are likely to need a breaker bar to get these undone, and a torque wrench to do them back up (ensuring you use new head bolts as they are the stretch variety) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
