4eyes2wheels 0 Posted September 22, 2009 Bit of advice required please. Got my 72k miles VR6 now and it is FANTASTIC higher up the rev range (where it is meant to be! :luvlove: ) but when dawdling along at low rev (less than 2000 rpm) it can feel a little uneven or hesitant. Is this nasty petrol? Spark plugs and / or HT leads needing replacement? Or just the way things are? If it is spark plugs and leads that would benefit from a change what would a reasonable charge be for such work? Thanks in advance. :salute:
peppyuk 0 Posted September 22, 2009 Hard to say, you should start with a vag-com check.
PROVR6 0 Posted September 22, 2009 Mine is smooth throughout the rev range. However I would definitely say the power comes in at about 3.5k revs and above.
carter711 0 Posted September 22, 2009 I know what you mean, my VR (on 125k) stutters under 2000rpm sometimes but I've traced it to a connection problem on one of the HT leads. I'm going to be servicing it soon so will include new leads and plugs, if the problem is still there it must be the coil pack but I don't think it is. I've found the engine runs better when using optimax or similar.
