How much can be taken off the VR6 head ("shaving" it down)

Not sure what you guys call it in english, and couldn't find anything with search, so here goes.

 

I'm currently doing the head/chain etc and want to "shave" of a bit on the head to make it "level", anyone know if there is any spec on how much one could take of it?. Not sure but think I might have read somewhere that it should not be "shaved", but AFAIK people have done it.

It's called head skimming.

yea helped a bit, didn't find any specs about it though, but knowing what it's called helps me a lot while using google too, thanks...:)

 

(and I notice people have done it, so I should propapbly be ok, needed 1/10 of a mm I think it was)...;)
