Rev counter vac pipe?

Recommended Posts

Hi, i've just bought a mk2 golf that's had a 2 litre 8 valve rado engine put in. I got it home and started to clean the bay. Sadly i have detached a very small bore vac pipe that disappears in to the bulkhead, i assume to the dash. The rev counter has now stopped working. Can an enlightened soul help direct me to where the hose attaches please? I just can't find it!! Cheers. Also after cleaning the bay, the oil light keeps flashing. I've checked levels are all good and the contacts on the switches but it's still flashing. Any ideas. Cheers

Have just been for a blat and think the vac pipe was a red herring as far as the tacho goes. The car has what i assume is Corrado clocks in it. 160mph speedo, twin LCD screens and a row of lit warning icons at the bottom. On the drive the rev counter fired in to life, erratically, mostly jumping all over the place. The oil icon also stopped flashing then started etc. Dashlight Disco! Waheyy. I suspect an earth or voltage regulator problem, does anyone have any other thoughts? Cheers.

If the clocks were from a Corrado 8v then they'd have the word 'Corrado' in white written on the facia. The rado 8v engne wasn't specific to the rado mate, they used the ADY or 2E, both of which were much more widely used in Golfs and Passats.

Ah cheers folks. That's definitely not the clocks. I reckon mine must be from a mk3 golf or zummat. I'll have to investigate a bit more.

This is the engine though;

That's a 2E isn't it?
