New crank bearings

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

As it sez. Going for new crank bearings plus a new oil pump and cap bolts in the Yellow G60.

A question...

Is there really such a thing as a high pressure oil pump Ie higher than OE a tuned car pump if you like. If so where does one exchange cash for product.

Also are standard VW cap bolts OK I read on the forum pages that the originals are streeetch variety and not to be reused.. Any other pointers will be most welcome.. Fitted oil pumps to Corrado's and Golfs before so nothing to worry about there aside from the dam sump bolts always wanting to cross thread :mad2:

Bearing cap bolts are re-useable.

Con rod bolts are the stretch bolts and should be changed.

Why do you want a higher pressure oil pump??

A new OEM oil pump will do just fine wit a fresh bottom end.

Ta for the reply.

Cap bolts are con rod bolts.

As for the pump. I have found the Corrado 's always seem to have low oil pressure I have had 3 G60's and put pumps in two of em. So as I need new bearings thought I might see if the mythicl high pressure pumps really exsist.

conrod bolts=stretch.

main bearing cap bolts non stretch.

You won't get low oil pressure on a healthy engine and so will not need a higher pressure pump.
