Bonnet release cable mechanism

Fun and games with my bonnet today which jammed shut.

I have got it open but I think my release mechanism cable isn't functioning correctly.

Could someone please tell me if my release handle looks complete?

Has it been modified in anyway?

Looks like someone has modified it to me :shrug:

Or is it just damaged :shrug: :shrug:

Also a picture of someones functioning release handle would be greatly received.

Looks like the clip has broken. It's a common problem with a very bad design. Unfortunately, I think you can only get the clip with a whole new cable.

Looks like it's been modified so it doesn't need the clip Rob. Which is nice. But it's been bent, so it doesn't work right.

Yeah,looks like there was some welding going on.This release has not felt right for a while.I can see why now.

I'm going to order a new handle and cable.

Hope they still sell them.If not i'll have to put an SOS out on the forum. :)

I've got a couple of handles lying around. Personally I'd just buy a new cable, might save a lot of agro one day.
