VrGirL 0 Posted January 19, 2004 I have a K&N air filter in my car. Can someone tell me the advantages and disadvantages to this. How often should i change the filter? Sould i put the stock air box in my car? Thanx :compress:
Supercharged 2 Posted January 19, 2004 K&N claim the filter needs servicing every 1,000,000 miles but i think most people like to clean and re-oil them every year or so, the only thing to beware of is when re-oiling (you can buy special K&N oil) not to use to much as it can take out you MAF (air flow sensor - which seem to be prone to failing on VR's anyway!) If you just have the panel filter you should still have the stock air box unless you have the 57i induction kit?? The advantages are slightly better induction over the original VAG filters and a 'raspier' sound when you accellerate!
20v turbo 0 Posted January 19, 2004 so if you lighten the flywheel do this meam you have to rev the engine harder on the motorway at cruising speeds due to the flywheel not having the same rotating mass???
