a18x vw 0 Posted December 30, 2009 The Corrado has had a lazy ignition switch for a while now and yesterday it let go all together. I have got up early to remove the old one and go to GSF to get a new one. How the hell do you access the screw holding the old one in place in place? its really tight and I have tried everything to get to the screw, I cant even see what type of head the screw is, Iam guessing its a cross head? Cheers Alex

Supercharged 2 Posted December 30, 2009 Don't use a GSF one either or you'll be doing the same job again in a year or 2.... Get a genuine one from VW - £
jaded2882 0 Posted December 30, 2009 I asked the same thing a while ago. If you're very patient and don't mind bending a screwdriver to get at it, then it is possible. But I took it to DG and Graham did a 'secret move' with a mallet  had it out in 5 mins!

a18x vw 0 Posted December 30, 2009 Top advice and thanks to all for the information. Sadly I didnt see Supercharged's reply until it was too late so a Gunna Surely Fail (GSF) item is fitted. Nevermind I now have a ghetto bent screwdriver tool to do it again, not that I want to mind! Thanks again Alex
