anorak 0 Posted January 31, 2004 Just taken the 'charger off of my C. Took some figures last year using a Race Technology performance meter that is surprisingly accurate. I've seen 2 independant reviews on it and tried it out on a few different cars and got remarkably similar times to the magazine and manufacturers quoted figures. Anyway, my C with Z Engineering ZR2 supercharger did; 257bhp, 233lbft (although the same kit has given 274bhp on another car at Stealth) 0-60 in 6.1 (not being totally unsympathetic to the drivetrain) 0-100 in 14.3 (about 4 secs up on standard) standing quarter in 14.5 (all on not particularly sticky tyres) Not sure that I'd recommend spending £2500 - £3000 on one, however, get yourself a low miles secondhand kit for £1500 and you're laughing (mine's just sold - I think - but they are about). Impreza drivers will hate you.

anorak 0 Posted January 31, 2004 Not sold the car yet, funky - but then I haven't been trying too hard! I can think of worse cars to be stuck with. The charger sold this morning - shame - would have gone nicely on the Golf.
corradovr6sc 0 Posted January 31, 2004 How much did you get for the charger?
anorak 0 Posted January 31, 2004 £1500 which included the remainder of the warranty (about 2 weeks). Not thinking of selling yours, Ben. I'd be tempted if my car sells!
chargedupstorm 0 Posted February 11, 2004 To pick up on this thread.... It's not only the cost of the Supercharger and fitting you have to take into consideration, it's the others that make the whole package: 1) engine mounts and transmission 2) Propper ECU mapping/software - The Giac chips and Z-engineering chips aren't the best for the job 3) Something to prevent pre-detonation? - Cooling - / Aquamist? 4) Most importanly, the reliability of your car. - I've been through 3 different chargers and one engine rebuild at the expense of trying to get more power out of the car I dearly love. - Basically all I'm saying is, have a rainy day fund ready in the event things don't work out as planned.
